Last weekend I had all my bridesmaids over for a little bit of a meet and greet. Although they all know at least one other girl in the bridal party, I thought it’d be nice to get them all together, so they could all mingle, get to know each other and just have a bit of fun. We ate pasta and garlic bread and salad cooked by my wonderful fiance, and we talked about the most important aspects of my wedding. The one thing that seemed to take precedence over everything else was make up! Most of my wedding party are beauty addicts, much like myself, so it makes it very interesting!
I’ve put together some of my favourite looks for each of the wedding trends that are big in 2016. I’m not sure which one I’ll be going with yet, but the below pictures are definitely giving me ideas.
Boho and rustic weddings are huge right now, with more couples than ever wanting their special day to be as relaxed and carefree as possible. A nude lip, lightly bronzed cheeks and a neutral smokey eye is as understated as it can get.
For a classic look, brides are opting for a pink lip, rosy cheeks and minimum eye makeup. It’s effortlessly beautiful.
To achieve this look, ask your make up artist to define your brows, cheekbones and jaw. Glam brides want to layer on the highlighter – you should be glowing on your wedding day!
If you can’t pull off the Audrey or the Marilyn on your wedding day, when can you? Think a bold red lip, or a matte pinky nude with a slick of mascara and winged liner. Lightly highlight your cheekbones but keep your base to a minimum – think FLAWLESS.
Romantic bridal make up is all about pink. Pink lip, pink cheek, pink eye (ew). This look is beautiful and will suit anyone. You can be as bold as you like while still looking effortless and the natural glow is enough to make anybody say ‘I do’.
I think I’ve decided which look I prefer, and I’m excited to try them all out! For all you beautiful brides to be, I hope this post has given you some inspiration! Let me know your favourites in the comments below.
